Interview: CasualRiches, MoreNiche’s Affiliate of the Month
Those who are more or less familiar with the affiliate scene know that some affiliate programs such as MoreNiche have a tradition of choosing the affiliate of the month. The criteria for the AOTM include the affiliate’s performance, being active and helpful in the member forum, etc. This month’s affiliate of the month at MoreNiche is Ricki a.k.a. Casual Riches who has been a great inspiration to me since I joined MN. He kindly agreed to answer a few questions for this blog.
AMM: I have read that you’re pretty new to the affiliate business - can you tell me how you first got into it and what made you consider this way of making money online?
CR: Well, I have actually been making money online for a while off and on. I started out getting sucked into buying e-books from so called “gurus” and trying to be an affiliate for them. It didn’t work out as well as I thought it would so I decided to look for something else and that is when I found MoreNiche. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
AMM: I see you’ve only started promoting MoreNiche products recently - did you expect AOTM to happen so soon for you in MN?
CR: I wanted it to happen but I didn’t think it would. I thought it would have taken quite a bit longer.
AMM: You’ve been very active in the MN forum, for which I personally am very grateful to you as I learned a lot from your posts - how important is it for an affiliate marketer to participate in a community?
CR: I think the community is one of the most important things of any affiliate program. The amount of support and help that newcomers can get is excellent if there is a good community behind them. It definitely increases sales.
AMM: Being a good affiliate marketer takes a lot of knowledge and experience in many different areas. What are the most necessary skills for an affiliate marketer, in your opinion?
CR: The most necessary skill for any affiliate marketer would have to be just having the drive to succeed. The reason that most affiliate marketers fail is because they think it is a “get rich quick” scheme and end up giving up. If you are willing to learn and put in hard work then that is the most important skill. The rest will fall into place for you.
AMM: I guess to be successful you need to have a clear idea of what you are trying to achieve in the long run. What is your personal goal in the affiliate business?
CR: My personal goal in the affiliate business is to be able to make a living on the income that I bring in from it. It might seem like a dream but I believe I can acheive this goal.
AMM: Building a downline: some affiliate marketers are all about it, while others think of it as building your own competition. What are your thoughts on it and what do you do about your own downline?
CR: I think it is a good idea but I do also think that it does make you build your competition. Although, if you work with your downline closely then it can be a very good thing for everyone involved.
AMM: And finally, what is your advice for those willing to make money as affiliates?
CR: Learn as much as you can, set goals, create plans, act on them, and never give up. It is simple if you put your mind to it.
Thanks for your time Ricki!
