My Progress Update - A New Signup!

I have just posted yesterday about the newly launched MagnaRX Cash program - and I just got an email notification about a signup in my downline! (Nice of them to notify me by email, btw - actually, most programs I work with have this option - it can be turned off but I would advise you to make sure it’s on so you know right away when you make a sale or get a signup)

The program surely looks very attractive to affiliates - and I hope we’ll be making some nice money with it. I plan on putting up a site or two for their products soon.

MagnaRX Cash - A New Affiliate Program Just Announced

This just in: Leading Edge Marketing who stand behind the Leading Edge Cash affiliate program has just launched a new affiliate program - MagnaRX Cash.

The programs offers the affiliates a choice of sites to promote ranging from male and female enhancement products to weight loss products - some of which are presented at MagnaRX Cash for the first time ever, being totally new products. The system interface is similar to that of LEC, which is nice as I’m used to it already. Although the program has just been launched, each site has enough of banners, buttons and otehr ad formats to suit most of your needs promoting the products. ou also get paid for returning customers refilling their orders and you have an option of building your downline and getting commissions off people’s sales in your downline - which, to me, is almost a must in an affiliate program.
Compared to LEC, there are even more payment options - besides standard checks, wire transfer and FedEx, MoneyBookers is also a supported payment option. What’s nice to know is that MagnaRX Cash has the same affiliate support team as LEC - I’ve had no problem getting answers to any of my questions so far and they’ve been really helpful and fast.

We’ve yet to see how the conversions will go - but it’s a wise move to jump onto this opportunity while it’s new and the affiliate competition hasn’t picked up yet. Go register here and try it out.

Just a Quick Update

Been busy with a lot of stuff lately so just a quick update on what’s been going on. I’ve been working on a few sites promoting  different affiliate products.  Some of these will be centered around just one product, others will be more like small portals providing comparisons of different products and all kinds of related information. These are mostly static sites, though for a couple of markets I would like to try the blog model - considering the ease of interaction with other sites and people potentially interested in the products. Of course, running a blog is not like just putting up a static site - done once and for good - a blog needs to be updated which certainly takes time. I’d like to do a detailed post some time soon on the benefits and drawbacks of each of these models for affiliate sites

I have posted at the affiliate forum I frequent asking for the feedback on this blog and got a lot of useful tips and comments. Thanks to everybody for these! One of them was to post more of my personal experience - which I surely intend to do. Also, people have started subscribing to my blog’s feed - great to know it. And no, unlike many other blogs, I do not intend on giving this up anytime soon! :-)

The End of the Rich Jerk

I’ve been reading Linda Buquet’s 5 Star Affiliate blog and came across this bit that she quotes from ShoeMoney’s blog:

Then about 20 minutes ago a friend who I trust in the business who is pretty close to Kelly Felix says he is just about bankrupt and hoping to climb out of the hole and even make some profit. The source also says that Kelly blew a ton of investors money buying advertising on Howard Stern and fake commercials/tv spots to make it look like he was rich.

Does this mean all affiliate programs are scam and you cannot really earn with them? - No, but like my previous post says, you should be selecting the affiliate programs carefully.

What Can Be Considered a Good Affiliate Program

I’ve been browsing around the blog of Ricki, a fellow affiliate I’ve met over at MoreNiche forum (I must say he has a very impressive blog where he details his experience making money as an affiliate) and among all the other good stuff there found a few tips concerning selecting the right affiliate program. Since I was going to do a post om a similar topic, I thought I’d quote Ricki’s post and add a few comments:

• Firstly check the product. The best performing affiliates actually use their sponsor’s products and know them well. Know the market that will need these products and how to create a need for them.

• Check out the company carefully

• Not everyone can afford high end products so unless you are familiar with special markets who can afford high priced goods stick to the average market of $10-$500. It will be easier for you to promote products in this range.

• Commissions: Be sure the company is offering a decent percentage. Do not accept anything below 20% as it is not worth it.

• The company should also be offering good training and tools, their success lies in your success.

• Be sure they offer good, quick customer support.

• There should be no obligation for you to buy the product

• There should be a good tracking system, showing your earnings in real time

• The company should have a system in place to prevent theft of your ID

• You should be paid at least once a month and the minimum payout should not be more than $100. Also be sure that the company has a convenient method of paying your commission.

Great tips. What I have to add to these is just the following:

  • An ideal way to make money as an affiliate is a two-tire commissions structure. This way, you earn not only by making sales yourself but also as a result of sales made by other affiliates who you referred to the program. Hence, I really like two-tire programs.
  • When joining a program, check whether the payment options they offer are suitable for you - this applies first of all to non-US based affiliates. E.g., PayPal is not available in all countries - so if an affiliate program offers PayPal as their only payout option you need to double check if you would be able to receive payments through PayPal in your country.

As for Ricki’s tips: I am relatively new to the affiliate business though I am quite an experienced Internet marketer. Until I started putting up my own affiliate sites, I have never thought it would be so much different from what I was used to. Training, guides, tutorials provided by the affiliate program is an invaluable help in this case as it can shorten the learning curve a lot. One such program that I’ve found very helpul and providing a lot of trainign and assistance to the affiliates is MoreNiche.

A Blue Leather Wallet from MoreNiche!

Woohoo! Today, I have achieved 100 posts in MoreNiche forum and earned my blue wallet from MoreNiche! Waiting on it impatiently!

For those wondering what the heck the above could mean: MoreNiche is an affiliate program I participate in. What’s cool about it, among other things,  is that you can earn money and stuff with them before even making your first sale. So far:

  • for signing up I got a bonus of $15;
  • for reaching 50 posts in their forum I got $10 more;
  • now, for reaching 100 posts I get this cool wallet! Will post a picture as soon as it arrives.

Talking of forum - since the day I signed up I have spent a lot of time there. Unlike forums in many other programs that seem to be neglected, MN’s forum is very active and user-friendly. It is extremely easy to get help from both the staff and other members by asking questions there and I have met many cool people there and learned a ton about the program, the products and what works best - so the time spent there has been very productive so far.

I plan on reviewing the MoreNiche program soon. Those interested in signing up can do so here.

New Product to Promote!

Attention healthcare affiliates!

JoeBucks have just launched a new site to promote their Hair Loss Treatment product - Provillus. If you have a site related to hair loss treatment systems and solutions you might want to jump onto this opportunity while it’s still new and the competition among affiliates promoting it is still low. They currently offer the product for the US customers and pay out up to $100 commissions depending on the quantity of the product sold.

If you are interested you can sign up here.

So What Is Affiliate And How Do You Make Money With It?

Affiliate programs are a popular way of making money online. Here’s the principle behind them: a business has a website and sells its products or services through that website. In order to drive targeted traffic to this website and the offers featured on it, the business starts an affiliate program:

- people sign up and drive traffic to the website,
- the orders made by customers you bring are tracked back to you and
- you get a commission for every successful sale.
Sounds easy, doesn’t it?

It is easy indeed if you know what you are doing. The benefits of being an affiliate as opposed to running your own online business are numerous: you don’t have to handle shipping, customer support or anything else associated with serving customers. All you do is supply the traffic for the site you’re an affiliate for and they take care of all the rest. In many cases, you don’t even need to have a site of your own to do this. There are, of course, things you need to take into account to make your affiliate activities successful. One of the most important things is bringing the relevant targeted traffic. This way, you ensure high percentage of conversions - which, consequently, means less work with better results for you. The conversion rates vary from market to market depending on the products or services being offered - what is considered a great conversion rate for one market niche may be extremely low conversion rate for anotehr niche. But the general rule is to try to achieve the highest conversion rates possible.

In my future posts I will be looking into different aspects of being a successful affiliate, including ways to ensure highly targeted traffic.
